Yes, Heard provides 1099-NEC filing services through our tax-filing partner, Taxfyle. If you paid your contractors more than $600 by check, bank deposit, or money transfer, Heard can help you file by the IRS filing deadline of February 2nd.
You can also file using the IRS's free e-filing option, Information Returns Intake System (IRIS), to file 1099-NEC for your contractors. Or use a filing service such as Avalara.
If you paid your contractors using a payroll provider, such as Gusto, they will file 1099-NECs on your behalf.
What if I received a 1099-NEC?
If you receive a 1099-NEC, it means that someone else contracted with you during the tax year and paid you for your services. If you are filing your taxes with Heard, we'll request that you upload the 1099-NEC (and any other 1099s and tax documents you receive) to the Annual Tax Questionnaire.
