We updated our Terms of Service as of October 26, 2026, and created this guide to walk you through what changed and what it means for your practice. This guide makes the Terms easier to understand, but the full Terms of Service are the official version, and you can read them anytime at joinheard.com/terms-of-service.
Most updates reflect our updated plan names and our new Premium plan, and they give you clearer information about how support works on each plan. Nothing here changes the core of what Heard does or how we work with you.
What is new
The Premium plan and your dedicated expert
The updated Terms add Premium, a plan for sole proprietors, S corporations, and group practices who want a dedicated financial expert. Premium includes everything in Essential, plus four quarterly check-ins a year and 1:1 meetings you can book with your expert. Premium is available to a limited group beginning October 27 and opens to all customers on November 10, 2026.
Here's what that covers:
Booking. You book time through your expert's calendar link from your Heard account, and choose a topic for the meeting. You can join by video or dial in by phone.
Quarterly check-ins. Four a year, 30 minutes each.
1:1 meetings. 30 minutes each. We aim to have a time available within 2 business days, or 5 business days during high-volume periods. This is a goal, not a guarantee.
Fair use. While there is no set limit to your 1:1 meetings with your dedicated expert, they are subject to Heard's availability. To keep time fair for all Premium customers, Heard may limit bookings if you book excessively. Heard may also reschedule, combine, or redirect meetings based on booking frequency, topic, and availability.
Cancellations and no-shows. Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours ahead. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations within a rolling three-month period may result in forfeited meetings. Unused or forfeited meetings aren't refundable.
Who can join. Spouses, financial advisors, and Heard's own tax professionals may join. IRS representatives, power-of-attorney firms, and outside CPAs can't.
What meetings cover. Your Heard books, filings, payroll, and S corporation setup. Meetings are for general information and support, not individualized legal, tax, or accounting advice. Heard may restrict meetings for abusive behavior or misuse of support resources.
Your expert. Heard assigns your expert and may change them. When your expert is out, a backup expert covers your check-ins, and you can send other requests to Messages.
Support on every plan
Expert support is available on every plan through Messages in your Heard account. Heard sets its support channels, hours, and formats, and they may change over time.
Call recordings
Calls with Heard may be recorded and transcribed, retained, and processed, including through AI and third-party tools. If you invite others to a call, you're responsible for getting their consent. You can't record calls with Heard without our written permission.
What changed (but isn't new)
Updated plan names
The Terms now describe Heard's plans as Heard Lite, Essential, and Premium.
- Heard Lite is for sole proprietors and includes monthly bookkeeping, quarterly tax estimates, platform access, and expert support. It doesn't include annual tax preparation and filing.
- Essential is the full-service plan for sole proprietors, S corporations, and group practices.
- Premium includes everything in Essential, plus a dedicated financial expert.
If you're an S corporation or group practice on Premium today, your plan is now called Essential. Your services, subscription terms, renewal date, and payments stay the same.
Not sure which plan you're on? You can ask Haven at any time or check in your account under Your Name › User Settings › Plan and Billing.
Upgrading and downgrading
You can upgrade from Heard Lite to Essential at any time. To move from Premium to Essential, contact Heard Support. Before a downgrade, Heard may require payment of the remaining subscription fees, or schedule the downgrade to take effect later in your current subscription term.
To see whether a change is available on your account and how to make it, follow the steps in How to change your Heard subscription plan.
