Overview
This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to pay the quarterly estimated tax for Washington, DC. There are two ways to pay quarterly tax estimates: login in or create an account, or make a payment without an account.
Make a payment with an account
- Go to https://mytax.dc.gov/_/
- On the top right of the page, enter your username and password and click Log in.
- To create an account, click Create a Logon.
- Follow the instructions to submit payment.
Make a payment without an account
- Go to https://mytax.dc.gov/_/
- Scroll down to "Quick Payments" then click Make a Payment.
- Click Express Credit/Debit Card Payment.
- Enter your Taxpayer information and billing address.
- Under Tax Account & Payment Amount.
- Account Type: Individual Income Tax
- Payment Type: select a payment type
- Tax Period End: Enter the last date of the quarter of the current tax year (e.g. 31-May-2024)
- Payment Amount: enter the payment amount
- Estimated Service Fee: automatically calculated after the payment amount is entered
- Estimated Total Payment: automatically calculated after the payment amount is entered
- Click Next.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete payment.
As a reminder, Heard cannot submit quarterly estimated tax for you, and you are responsible for paying it in a timely manner. We recommend saving any payment confirmations and checking your state's payment portal after submitting the payment to ensure it is reflected in your account. Please mark the quarterly tax payment as paid in Heard and upload a copy of your receipt.
