What is auto categorization?
Auto-categorization is a bookkeeping process utilized by Heard that helps make categorizing transactions quicker. Heard applies global auto-categorization rules based on common transaction patterns across our customer base. The global auto-categorization rules are applied immediately when a transaction is created. When a customer-specific auto-categorization rule is created, that customer-specific rule will override the global rule every time that transaction is recognized on your books.
How to submit auto categorization
- Go into Bookkeeping>Transactions
- Click the three dots (...) to the far right of the transaction for which you want to submit a request.
- Click View Details
- Scroll down to Auto-Categorization Rules, and click Submit a request
- This will create a message for the Bookkeeping team to review and add the rule.
