Headway will send 1099s to all eligible providers, regardless of entity type, because they are informational forms only.
Headway will only file a 1099-NEC for payments that did not go through a payment processor that issues a 1099-K. This might include cash, check, or direct deposit.
1099s from Headway are sent to the email address associated with your Headway account by January 31, directly from Tax1099. Please upload this form to your Heard account.
Note: W-9 requests and 1099 filing will be coming from New York Medical Behavioral Health Services, P.C. for appointment payments as this is the legal entity that providers are paid from. W-9 requests and 1099 filing will be coming from TherapyMatch, Inc. for incentive/bonus payments.
Who receives a 1099-K?
For 2025 and beyond, in most states, only accounts meeting the following criteria qualify for a Form 1099-K and must be reported to the IRS by your provider:
- More than $20,000 in gross sales from goods or services in the calendar year and
- More than 200 transactions in the calendar year
If you did not meet the criteria your payment processor won't issue a 1099-K. In that case, you can mark the document request for year end bookkeeping as "Not Relevant" and add note.
If you did not receive a 1099 from Headway, please reach out via their support contact form.
