Your quarterly tax estimate is based on your books and the answers in your Quarterly Tax Checklist. If something has changed since you completed the checklist, you can update your answers and get a recalculated estimate.
When to make an adjustment
An adjustment updates your estimate when:
- your filing status changed, such as starting to file jointly
- your projected annual income is higher or lower than what you entered
- you have new W-2, 1099, or spouse income to add
- your tax withholdings changed
- you updated your books or recategorized transactions after your estimate was released
Not sure whether an adjustment is needed? Click Ask Haven about my estimate on the Quarterly Taxes page. Haven uses your account information and the quarterly tax checklist to explain how your estimate was calculated and what changed since last quarter.
How to make an adjustment
- Go to Taxes > Quarterly Taxes
- In the Federal estimate, click the View Details & Pay button
- Review your Federal Estimate Breakdown
- On the right-hand side of the page, click on Make Adjustments
- You can walk through the checklist again and update your information.
- Click Submit
Once you have submitted your changes, a new estimate will become available.
