What is Heard Payroll?

Heard has teamed up with Gusto to process payroll for employees and contractors, embedded right in your Heard dashboard.

Heard Payroll enables you to run and manage payroll processing tasks within your Heard account. In the video below, Morgan from Heard provides an inside look at Heard Payroll.

What is included in Heard Payroll?

Heard Payroll most closely resembles the Gusto Simple Plan Offering. We've also listed its functionality below.

Direct Deposit Payroll Speeds

Heard Payroll deposits funds to your W-2 employees' accounts, offering both 2-day and 4-day direct deposit payroll speeds.

Contractor payments are available only at the 4-business-day direct deposit payment speed.

Example timeline for 4-day payment

Monday by 4 pm PT: Run payroll or payment
Tuesday-Thursday: We process funds
Friday: An employee or contractor sees deposits in their account.

Please note: next-day direct deposit payments are not available on Heard Payroll.

Who is eligible to use Heard Payroll?

S Corporation owners, please see "Why is payroll required for S Corporations?"
Sole Proprietors who have W-2 employees

What is not included in Heard Payroll?

Benefits brokered and set up by Gusto.
Time tracking tooling for employees.
Ability to issue next-day payments.
Ability to pay employees by check. We strongly recommend against this to ensure accurate bookkeeping.
Ability to pay employees with multiple pay rates for employees with multiple job titles at different pay rates.
Ability to pay international contractors.

How can I get started with Heard Payroll?

Go to the Payroll menu item on the left-hand side, and click the Get Started button. If you have specific payroll questions, please get in touch via Messages.

How does Heard Payroll pricing work?

The monthly fee is determined by the number of employees and contractors on the payroll for that month. The subscription fee is processed on the 3rd of every month.

Using Heard Payroll

Once enrolled in Heard Payroll, you will see a Payroll tab in the sidebar of your Heard account. We recommend that Heard users set up Payroll on a 4-day direct deposit speed to run on autopilot by activating Automatic Payroll within their Heard account. This enables you to set up Payroll once and automatically run it on the cycle you set.
