Overview
You will need to be registered in each state where you have payrolled employees. You'll start with the state where you reside and complete additional state registrations for any other necessary states. This document will include the steps you can take to register.
Registering in states where you have employees
You have two choices:
- Let Gusto register for you
- Register yourself using the instructions in Gusto's Help Center
Let Gusto register for you
Registering with a state agency can be a lot of work, but Gusto's partnership with CorpNet can help. They work directly with the agency so you can skip the hassle of registering yourself. Learn more about CorpNet
You'll need to log into your account on Gusto.com and use CorpNet for your state registration. If you're not sure how to log in, you can follow this link and click "I forgot my password" to reset your password. You'll need to enter the same email address you provided earlier in the onboarding process, then click the Send link to reset your password and sign in to your existing Gusto account.
