Overview:
This annual tax season, Heard is partnering with Taxfyle to provide therapists with access to licensed tax preparers across the country to prepare their tax returns. We’re excited about this partnership because we believe that by tapping into this vast network of over 7,000 licensed CPAs, therapists will receive quality, 1:1 tax preparation and have their tax returns filed on time.
Who is Taxfyle?
Taxfyle is an online tax filing platform with access to over 7,000 licensed CPAs and EAs located nationwide, averaging 12 years of experience in US state and federal tax preparation. Founded in 2015, Taxfyle has been supporting individuals, small businesses, CPA firms, and more by compliantly, confidently, and conveniently filing their taxes.
Why is Heard partnering with Taxfyle?
The Heard Team has learned from the past that resourcing for tax season is critical to a good experience for everyone. With a network of over 7,000 licensed CPAs, Taxfyle can provide the resourcing that therapists need for a personalized, quality tax preparation and filing experience.
What will this tax season look like for me?
- Heard works with Taxfyle to designate a tax preparer to prepare and file your tax return(s).
- When it comes time to start preparing your taxes, Heard will provide ongoing updates via Messages.
- You’ll communicate with your designated tax preparer by clicking on the new tax preparer messaging section that's located in the Annual Tax Center.
- This new messaging section will lead you to the Taxfyle's chat portal, where you and your tax preparer will communicate as needed. This portal will open up in a new window from your Heard profile.
How does Taxfyle make sure they're working with quality tax preparers?
Taxfyle only works with U.S.-based, licensed CPAs (certified public accountants) and EAs (enrolled agents).
An important note: Together, the Heard Team and your designated tax preparer will ensure that all relevant tax deductions and credits have been accounted for on your tax return.
What if my tax situation is complicated? How will my tax preparer address my specific concerns?
Heard will take preliminary steps to put together all of your essential bookkeeping and tax information and give it to your tax preparer once tax preparation begins. These steps include the bookkeeping year-end review and the tax questionnaire, whose purpose is to capture all of the specific, necessary details of your practice’s finances (and personal finances, for some).
If, at any point in the tax preparation process, you need additional support, you can message our tax team via Messages, and they’ll be available to help.
Will I have to download Taxfyle's software?
You won't have to download anything to use Taxfyle.
Will I have to create my own login to use Taxfyle?
No. You'll continue using Heard as per usual.
How will I get in touch with my tax preparer?
When you're communicating with your tax preparer, you'll click on the "Respond to Your Tax Preparer" section that's located in the Annual Tax Center. Taxfyle's chat portal will pop up in a separate window, where you'll send messages, approve or reject tax return drafts, etc. You can always navigate back to Heard from the portal.
If I have a question about my tax return, who do I reach out to?
You should reach out to your tax preparer. If, for any reason, you're not able to get their questions answered, you can always reach out to Heard.
If I have a question about taxes before I'm in the tax prep stage, who do I reach out to?
You'll reach out to Heard.
If I'm not sure who to reach out to, what should I do?
You should reach out to Heard. We're always available to steer you in the right direction.
Who will submit my annual tax payments?
This year, you'll submit your federal and state tax payments. Your tax preparer and the Heard Team will be available if you're not sure where to submit your payments.
