When you connect your financial accounts to Heard via our secure third party connection, Plaid, your financial institution sends us any accounts that are eligible to be synced. If there’s an account you don’t want to sync to Heard, you can opt to hide the account in Heard to prevent transactions from showing in Heard. Hiding an account does not unlink the connection. The connection will still appear in Plaid and in your online banking portal. To completely remove the connection to your account, you will need to unlink the account from Heard.
Remove connection using Plaid
Some financial institutions will enable you to do this via Plaid using the following steps:
- Log into your Heard account at joinheard.com
- Click on the drop down arrow next to Your Name and select Settings
- Scroll down to Connected Financial Institutions
- Click Add/Remove Account beside the account connection
- When prompted, log in with your credentials for that institution
- Uncheck any accounts you want to unlink from Heard, make sure the accounts you intend to sync are still selected, and then proceed through the steps to complete the reauthorization
For Chase and Wells Fargo, you’ll need to unlink accounts from Heard directly from within the online banking portal using the steps below:
How do I unlink a Chase account?
- Log into your Chase account at chase.com
- Click the Security & Privacy tab at the top.
- Scroll down and click Linked apps and websites.
- Click Heard via Plaid. This will show you accounts that are currently eligible to be shared with Heard via Plaid.
- Scroll down and click Edit sharing.
- Uncheck any accounts you don't want to be eligible to sync to Heard via Plaid.
- Click the I agree button to save your changes.
How do I unlink a Wells Fargo account?
Note: Wells Fargo enables managing a single Plaid connection for all Plaid integrations, so removing Plaid authorization at https://www.wellsfargo.com/ will remove it for all apps you’ve connected with Plaid. This may include any apps that use Plaid to sync your bank account such as CashApp etc. Instead, you may wish to simply hide the account rather than deauthorize it if you use it with other Plaid-connected services.
- Log into your Wells Fargo account at wellsfargo.com
- On the top right of the page, Click the drop down arrow next to Welcome, Your Name.
- Select Manage Access.
- From the drop down, Click Manage Connected Apps.
- Click PLAID.
- Uncheck any accounts you don't want to be eligible to sync to Heard via Plaid.
- Click the Save button to save your changes.
What if I can't remove a financial account?
